Tavarus Sherrod is a Licensed Massage Therapist and Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern at the Trauma
Healing Collective. Tavarus is also a certified Reiki healer and trained in EMDR.
A Florida native, Tavarus was born in Tampa and recognized his call to help and serve
others at a young age. Tavarus graduated from Florida A&M University with a
bachelor’s degree in social work, then earned a master’s degree from Bellevue
University in mental health counseling.
Prior to transitioning into the world of massage therapy in 2020, Tavarus was a program
director for a local, social services non-profit organization in Tallahassee, where he
worked with children and families. Tavarus also served for 12 years in the Army
National Guard and was deployed twice to Iraq and Afghanistan.
Tavarus understands the importance of self-care and the impact it can have on the body
physically, emotionally, and mentally. He finds great joy and satisfaction in his work
helping clients to improve their quality of life through massage and relaxation
techniques, and he recognizes that trust and a holistic approach are foundational to any
When not working, Tavarus describes himself as an “avid homebody” who adores
classic horror films or action flicks, meditation, and spin classes.
A forever learner, Tavarus says his other great passion is travel, putting Egypt and
Greece at the top of his travel bucket list.
I lead groups and work with individuals ages 12 and older.
I do not accept any insurance at this time.
My office hours are 9:00am to 5:00pm M, Tu, Th, and F.
My private pay rate is $85 per 50 minute session.
Sessions are typically scheduled weekly or bi-weekly and are 50 minutes in length.
My private pay rate for group therapy is $40 per 50 minute session.
