Masters-Level Mental Health Counselor Intern

How does trauma affect behavior? This is the question that guides my practice as a Clinical Mental Health Intern. Traumatic experiences can initiate strong feelings and emotions that connect with reactions long after the traumatic event.

My Background

I graduated from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University with a B.S in Psychology. I am currently in the second year of my Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Florida State University. I have experience in multiple mental health settings such as inpatient crisis stabilization units, homeless shelters, private practice, and college counseling centers among various populations from children to adults. I have also gained experience assisting in administering psychological evaluations for Mood Disorders, Anxiety Disorders, Intelligence testing, and Neurodevelopmental disorders. I am passionate about integrating mindfulness, advocacy, and therapeutic alliance into my practice.

How I Can Help You

I focus on processing traumatic experiences and understanding those experiences on an individual level. Trauma can impact our emotions, behaviors, and cognitions. My goal is to help individuals not only process their emotions, behaviors, and cognitions but use an integrative approach to change problematic areas caused by trauma and implement self-awareness, mindfulness, and healthy coping strategies to facilitate healing from traumatic experiences. Together, we will process and uncover the areas in which trauma has affected your behavior so you can move into a healthier and healed phase of life. Healing is not linear. It is a journey, and I am here to help you start.
